The Egg

Acho que uma das melhores coisas da vida está no prazer da descoberta...Quando a descoberta acontece numa hora inesperada...Melhor ainda!!

Esse é o sentimento que tenho pela Banda que vou falar... "The Egg". Eu conheci essa banda de ingleses de Oxford em 2007. Num festival de música eletrônica numa noite fria de maio.

Formada nos final dos anos 90, a banda é bem conhecida dos festivais pelo mundo como por exemplo o "Glastonbury", "The Big Chill" e "Montreux Jazz"...

O caras já lançaram 3 álbuns "Albumen", "Travelator" e o mais intimista, reflexivo e psicodélico "Forwards"...

Quando ouvi pela primeira vez não pude deixar de ser contagiada pela mistura como eles se auto-definem "live house, rocktronic, funk, and ambient influenced dance music, using eletronic and live instrumentals, video triggering, samples and live and vocoded vocals".

Sim, o som é contagiante e a banda tem como influências os também ingleses "Pink & Floyd" e outras bandas bem conhecidas de pelos amantes de música eletrônica como "Underworld", "New Order"....

Mas antes que os mais desavisados achem que trata-se de uma banda de música eletrônica com BPM altos....Vou logo dizendo que o "The Egg" passa bem longe deste esteriótipo. Embora tenham músicas remixadas como "Walking Away" por David Guetta e "Nothing"por Cicada que seguem essa linha...

Uma das minhas preferidas é "Wall" do Álbum Forwards que coloco abaixo a letra e a música mas quem quiser pode visitar o MySpace deles e conhecer outras...
